On Saturday, December 5th, Typhoons Chairman John Laroche accompanied Mr. Lawrence Ho, a Typhoons sponsor, to hand a special Typhoons jersey off to Stephen Harper, the Prime Minister of Canada.  Mr. Harper is an avid hockey fan and has written articles on varying topics in hockey, and is currently working on a book about hockey.  Mr. Harper was kind enough to autograph a jersey that we will use later this season in our annual auction to raise money for the league.

MEGA ICE 5s TOURNAMENT UPDATE

Hello Typhoons.  We have a break from hockey for a bit, but please be aware of the upcoming schedule.  This week, we have taken final registration for the MI5s tournament.  If you are on the list below, but cannot play, please notify Dwayne.  Most teams are completely full, so if you would like to register now, email Dwayne and there may be a chance of getting on a team, but nothing is guaranteed.

The fee is $1100 per player, per division – unless otherwise stated.  (Please contact Dwayne if you are unsure of this)

Every year, the Typhoons host a Christmas party at Elements for the family and friends of Typhoon players.  Parents and friends can join Typhoons players on the ice from 6:15pm to 8:15pm.  There will be juice, coffee and drinks for parents provided.  Any Typhoons who bring home-made baked goods will be able to attend the event free of charge.  Simply notify the Typhoons at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you would like to bring some baked goods.  Christmas decorations will be put up, and Christmas music will be played.  At 7:30pm, we will have a draw for Christmas gifts for the children.  Admission for the event will be $100, and that cost will go towards subsidizing the cost of the ice rental and beverages.

Thank you to all the volunteers (especially the Herz family, the Laroche family, the Seymour family, the Woods family, Mrs Yiu, Mrs Lundrigan, Anthony Morris, Jonas Mak, Annie Kwan, Hedda Shurmann, Tony Champion, Bill Shum, Shane Weir, and any others that I may have missed) for your help in making the Xmas 5s a great success again this year.  There was a great turnout, and the goalies were fantastic for playing almost 3 hours straight without breaks!

Christmas 3s Tournament

Register now to play in the 3's tournament at Mega Ice on December 23rd.  The tournament will start at 8:00am and will continue on until 2:00pm!  There will be pizza and drinks included in the $400 fee to play, and players will have LOTS of ice time.

The cost of $400 per player will go towards the cost of the ice rental, the officiating, and the drinks and pizza.  The Typhoons will cover the remainder of the outstanding balance.
