Registration 2010-2011 Season

Registration for our 2010-2011 Season has begun.  To guarantee a spot in the league, you must register and pay before June 30th, 2010. 

2010/2011 HK City League Season Division Outline

Novice                                                             2002 & younger – beginners or players younger than five

Mini-Squirt A:                                                  2002 – 2003 & selected younger players

Mini-Squirt AA:                                               2002 – 2003

Squirt A:                                                          2000 -2001 & selected younger players

Squirt AA:                                                        2000 -2001

PWA:                                                               1998 – 1999 & selected older players

PWAA:                                                             1998 – 1999 & selected older players

Bantam AA:                                                    1996 – 1997 & selected older players

Bantam/Midget AAA (SuperLeague)         1993 – 1995 & selected younger players

• “A” Divisions are recreational and are for developing and younger players within the age grouping.
• “AA” Divisions are competitive and are for advanced and older players within the age grouping.
• Please note that players are placed according to their abilities according to the evaluations of coaches and Typhoons management.  The Typhoons will do their best to accommodate requests, but they reserve the right to make the final decision in all player placements.
• If Novice players advance beyond the skill level of the class, and there is availability, players may opt to be placed in a higher division.
• SuperLeague players born between 1993 and 1995 will not be playing the Sunday Night League, but can opt to play in a men’s league organized by the Typhoons if numbers permit.
• The SuperLeague will work together with the Coquitlam Express Junior A team in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in Vancouver, Canada.  Players will be given a chance to be scouted at a prospect camp at the start of the season.
• Not everybody can register to play SuperLeague.  Only players from the BNTM division in 2009/2010 and selected players contacted by the Typhoons may join.  It is in fact a Bantam/Midget AAA division.
• Novice and MiniSquirt sessions are currently planned for Sunday mornings.
• Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam games will take place on Sunday or Monday nights.
• SuperLeague games will take place on Saturday mornings at Mega Ice.
• Please note that corporate sponsorship and fundraising covers an average of 50% of the cost of playing.
• A maximum of 20 Select Team players per age group will be selected in September. Practice schedules and tournament updates will be given after the summer.  Please check website for updates.

Fees for the Full Season:

• The season will start in September, 2010 and finish in May, 2011.
• For MiniSquirt, Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam, the fees include 2 preseason practices, 7 regular practices, 15 regular season games and 2-6 playoff games.
• The Novice fees include 20 ice sessions at ¼ ice at Elements rink.  The Superleague fee includes 15 regular games, and 2-6 playoff games.  Practices are not included at this time.
• The fees DO NOT include any tournaments or other special events ie. MI5 tournament, Xmas Family Skate.
• Each player will pay a $150 non-refundable administration fee at registration (it is factored into the pricing below).  Players who play 2 divisions. (eg. Players who play both Bantam and Superleague pay the administration fee once only)
• Refunds will only be given for withdrawals due to medical/family transfer reasons through September 15, 2010.
• Family discounts are provided at 15% for the second child and 30% for the 3^rd child, starting from the oldest to youngest.  There is no discount for SuperLeague as this is an adjunct to the regular divisions.
• For existing League Members, registrations must be submitted and paid in full by June 30, 2010.  Requests for extension must be forwarded directly to the manager Dwayne Ripley before the due date. He will respond via email.
• SUPERLEAGUE IS CURRENTLY ONLY OPEN TO PLAYERS BORN EARLIER THAN 1995 OR 2009/2010 BNTM PLAYERS FOR REGISTRATION.  ONLY SOME OTHER CHOSEN PLAYERS WILL GET INVITES.
